Carving Pumpkins

We went to Chad and Gina's house for a pumpkin carving FHE. Miller picked the pumpkins from Grandpa Heider's garden. He really liked the green ones.

I have to admit that the green pumpkins turned out awfully cute. Miller really enjoyed the carving. He wanted to saw into those pumpkins all night long. Memories like these are my favorite!

Poor Miller!

Miller was sick this week with whatever it is going around. We spent four days laying on the couch. When it came time to go to preschool on Friday, it was not pretty. He wanted to go all morning, but when we walked in and it was time for Mommy to leave, we had a major meltdown! Screaming and crying, the teacher held him while I escaped through the door. He was a mess. When I picked him up, I asked the teacher how long he threw a fit. She said about two minutes after I left, he was crying and a little girl in his class walked up to him and asked him why he was crying. "My mommy left me." he told the little girl. Her response..."So did my mom and I'm not crying." He looked at her, stopped crying and ran off to play. Never a dull moment with kids. I will laugh about that one for a while.

Trip to Seattle

We spent 5 days doing everything we could. This was our visit to the aquarium. Very cool, but wished that I had my Millerman with me to see it. He would have gone crazy with all the fish.

This is the night we were supposed to go to watch the Mariners play the Oakland A's. Well, it was raining like crazy and Angela and I wanted to see Wicked again if we had the chance. It was completely sold out and we couldn't find any tickets online. We thought we would drop by the theater to see if they had any cancellations. No such luck, but they do hold what they call the Wicked lottery. 2 1/2 hours before the show, they collect entries for a lottery to buy tickets that they didn't sell. $25 bucks a piece and you can buy up to two. This night they had 22 tickets available and they would be drawing 11 names out of the witches cauldron. Our odds weren't very good, because there were about 200 people who put their names in the lottery. Go figure, they pull ten names and we had all but given up. The last name was drawn, and it was mine!!! Yeah!!! Angela and I bought the last two tickets for $50 bucks, (way cheaper than what we paid for our tickets to go 3 nights earlier) and we were on the fifth row!!! The boys went to the game in the rain and we had the very best time seeing it for the second time. I never win anything, so this was big in my book!

We bought tickets to see Wicked about 2 months ago and they were worth every penny. It is my favorite Broadway musical I have ever seen. Incredible!

I gained about 10 pounds on this trip, I swear. I am certain that the red velvet cheesecake we ate several times throughout the trip had nothing to do with it!

We went to see the Seahawks play the Chicago Bears. A very exciting game, but the Seahawks lost. We still found crazy fans with smiles on their faces even with the defeat.

At the Seahawks game. Lots of fun...very loud....and the chowder from Ivan's was the best part!
